A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
EXTENDING THE CONTRACT FOR FLEET MANAGEMENT AND
VEHICLE SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City's current five (5) year contract with First Vehicle Services to provide
Fleet Management and Vehicle Maintenance Services expires on January 31, 2019; and
WHEREAS, per Section 2.7 Terms of Contract reads: "The initial term of this contract
shall be for a period of five (5) years and can be extended for an additional term of five (5) years
upon approval of the City Commission"; and
WHEREAS, under such terms, this will be the first and only extension of the contract.
Staff will rebid for Fleet Management and Vehicle Services in 2023; and
WHEREAS, the City and First Vehicle Services have developed a strong working
relationship over the past two decades and staff deems it in the best interest of the City to extend
this contract; and
WHEREAS, First Vehicle Services has agreed to continue providing service to the City
and wishes to extend the contract; and
WHEREAS, funds are adequately budgeted annually in accounts 001-5004-549-3401
(First Vehicle Services Contract Services) and 001-5004-549-3402 (First Vehicle Services Non -
Contract Services). The current FY1819 budget amounts are as follows: $311,951 (for contract
services) and $29,235 (for non -contract services).
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby approves a five year extension (2/1/19 thru
1/31/24) to the contract with First Vehicle Services for Fleet Management and Vehicle Services
under Bid 1314-03.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
