standards are set forth in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code
and are made part of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-
16.
A code enforcement inspection at 0 W 6TH ST was conducted on 1/29/2019. The City of Atlantic
Beach Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code
of Ordinances:
VIOLATION CODE: Chapter 24. Land Development Regulations.
NATURE OF VIOLATION: City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinance Sec. 24-113. - Special purpose
district (SP), (c) - The existing salvage yard, which is restricted to storage and salvage operations of
automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, mobile homes, other vehicles, boats, septic tanks and metal scrap is
recognized as a lawfully permitted nonconforming use. The site area for this existing salvage yard shall
not exceed that covered by the blocks or portions thereof limited in location to the following lots of
record identified as Section H,to wit: all of Blocks 111, 112, 113, 117, 118, 119, 140, 141, and 142.
Upon inspection, it has been noted that the salvage yard operations have extended outside of the
permitted Blocks listed above and salvage items are being stored on Block 139.
This letter requests that the noted violation(s) be corrected by removing all vehicles and other
salvage items from Block 139 within ten (10) days of the receipt of this notice.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Failure to correct the violation by the required date may
result in this case being referred to the Code Enforcement Board resulting in fines up to two hundred
fifty dollars ($250.00) per day. Upon completion of the action required, it is your responsibility to
contact me and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance. Please contact Atlantic Beach Code

ORDINANCE NO. 90-86-103
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE
OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA;
AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE III, DIVISION
5, TO ESTABLISH A SINGLE USE DISTRICT;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach,
Florida:
Section 1. Chapter 24, Article III, Division 5 is hereby amended to create
Section 24-113, Special Use District. which said section shall read as follows:
CHAPTER 24
ARTICLE III - ZONING REGULATIONS
DIVISION 5 - ESTABLISHMENT OF DISTRICTS
Section 24-113. Special Use District
(a) Intent. The SP district is intended for a limited single use.
(b) Permitted Use. The use permitted in this district is as follows:
(1) Salvage yard/junk yard restricted to automobiles, trucks, motor-
cycles, mobile homes, other vehicles, boats, septic tanks, and other metal
scrap.
(c) Uses by exc ption. None
(d) Minimum lot or site requirements. The site requirement in this district
is as follows:
(1) Lot or site area: The site area shall not exceed that covered by
the following Blocks or portions thereof located in Section H, to wit: All of
Blocks 111, 112, 113, 117, 118, 119, 140, 141, and 142.
(a) Minimum yard requirements. None.

(f) Building restrictions. The building restriction in this district is
as follows:
(1) No buildings of any kind will be allowed in the district except single
family residence for the owner/operator and members of their immediate families,
and in addition thereto necessary repair/work shops use in the connection with the
Permitted Use as described above.
(g) Special requirements. The operation of this Special Use District will
require the following:
(I) If any lot or parcel within the blocks herein above referred cease
to be used for the purposes specified herein, then and in that case, that
particular lot or parcel shall not again be allowed the Special Use Exception
and the autos, boats, parts, etc. shall be removed at the owner's expense
within six (6) months after receiving written notice from the City of Atlantic
Beach.
Section 2. The Ordinance shall take effect upon its adoption.
