Summary of Donner Park activities:
Donner Park held 2 extra homework club study sessions to prepare children for final
exams.
The 4-H dub members participated in the Greater Jacksonville "V11e Care for Kxis Day' at
the Jacksonville landing. Twelve Mothers Day gift baskets were prepared by the club for
Donner Senior Citizens.
Preparations for Summer Camp took place this month. Registration forms, sign in sheets
' and rule and regulations forms were passed out to the children for parents signatures.
This summer, arts and crafts, table games, and art lessons ere on the agenda.
Attended the quarterly meeting for the Commodities program at the Kennedy Center.
Donner Park was proud to congratulate 5 of its own in this years local graduation
exercises. The children all maintained high grade point averages and plan to volunteer
their time throughout the summer while preparations are made to attend college in the fall.
Summary of Jordan Park activities:
• This month at Jordan Park, preparations for Summer Sports Camp began. Basketball,
16ckball and Flag Football are on the agenda. Many techniques will be taught to the
children to prepare for the competitions Urey face among each other.. Physical Fitness and
Conditioning will be taught also. Summer Camp began on June 3, 2002.
• Met with Grant Coordinator from the Florida Department of law Enforcement regarding
Jordan Park actvities. Discussions were held about the programs that Jordan Park is
coordinating for the duration of the grant period. Quarterly reports were completed for the
January-March 2002 quarter and reimbursement checks were received.
Summary of Parks and Recreation Activities:
• Met with FDLE representative regarding the Jordan Perk Grant.
• Prepared Summer Camp registration forms; held spectai summer camp meeting.
• Completed revised work and inspections of the Dune Crossover Project
• Met with Contractors on the completion of Dutton Island
• Coordinated Adele Grage Fundraiser Evert et Bull Park.
• Met with Cily Manager on projects
- Reviewed applications for Gardener positiomand held interviews. Reviewed applications
for the Beautification Division Chief position.
• Typed corcespondence, answered phone, end all other parks and recreation related
activities.
