AGENDA ITEM: Authorization for City Manager to sign the Form DR-420
Certification of Taxable Value

DATE: June 17, 2002
BACKGROUND: This is the form used to transmit the decisions of the City
Coaunission for the tentative millage rate and the date, time and
location of the first public hearing on the tentative budget and
millage tax rate. The City must not schedule the Public Rearing on
the same day as the School Board or the City of Jacksonville.
The property appraiser will notify all property owners of the
meeting and the proposed millage rate on their respective property
tax notifications.
This information is due to the Duval County Property Appraiser's
Office and the Tax Collector's Office within 35 days ofthe
Certification.
BUDGET: The budgetary impact is dependant on the millage that is adopted at
the final public hearing.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to sign the DR-420 as soon as the time
and date of the first public hearing has been scheduled reflecting the
current millage rate.
Note: The form will be held at City Hall until we can confirm
there is no conflict with the selected date from the other taxing
districts.
