COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BOARD
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH

The May 20th meeting will consist of both a public workshop and a regular meeting. The workshop
will begin at 6:00pm, and the regular meeting will proceed immediately following the workshop at
approximately 7:00pm.
WORKSHOP ITEM: The purpose of this workshop is to take public comment, which will assist in identifying
issues of importance to the community as related to the Comprehensive Plan. This workshop is a first step in the
State mandated Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) process intended to assess the effectiveness of a local
government’s Comprehensive Plan.
REGULAR MEETING

2. Approval of the minutes of the April 15, 2008 meeting.
3. Recognition of Visitors.
4. Old Business. None.
5. New Business.
a. Recommendation to the City Commission from the Community Development Board s erving in its
capacity as the Local Planning Agency that the community issues as identified during the workshop by
the public, staff, and the CD Board be specifically addressed during the EAR process.
b. ZVAR-2008-04, Deprin. Request for a Variance from Section 24-151(b)(ix) of the Land
Development Regulations to allow a skateboard ramp to remain on a Street Side Yard on a Corner Lot
at 392 Ocean Boulevard. (Final action.)
c. UBE-2008-03, Shivam Atlantic, LLC. Request for a Use-by-Exception to allow development of a
new Hampton Inn & Suites hotel in the Commercial General (CG) Zoning District on an undeveloped
site located at the northwest corner of Atlantic Boulevard and Aquatic Drive. (Recommendation to the
City Commission.)

5826. Interested parties may attend the meeting indicated in this notice and state your opinions, or comments
regarding the agenda items may be mailed to the address contained in this agenda. If a person decides to appeal
any decision made by the Community Development Board with respect to any matter considered at this meeting,
he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of
the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which any appeal is based.
