Uniform Rental and Cleaning for City Employees

BACKGROUND: Per the Northeast Florida Public Employees' Loca1630 Agreement
with the City, we aze required to furnish and clean uniforms for all
bazgaining unit employees.
The City's cunent contract is with RUS Uniforms of Gainesville,
who has just merged with Cintas Corporation. This contract was
awarded on July 23, 2001 and expires on July 31, 2002. We have
contacted Mr. John Duffy, Branch Manager of Cintas Corporation,
and he has agreed to extend the contract for another yeaz at the
current prices. The City has the option of extending the cun•ent
contract for two 1-yeaz periods, and this will be extension number
one.
RECOMMENDATION: Extend the contract for one yeaz at the current cost, which is
estimated at $9,500.
BUDGET: This. is budgeted in the 4400 accounts of several departments:
Streets and Maintenance, Stormwater, Water Production, Sewer
Treatment, Water Distribution, Sewer Collection, Parks and
Recreation, and Finance.
ATTACHMENTS: Letter signed by John Duffy, Branch Manager, Cintas Corporation
agreeing to extend the contract for one year at the current prices.

As you are awaze, the contract with the City of Atlantic Beach for uniform rentals expires on
July 31, 2002. We would like to extend the contract for another year at the current prices, if this
is acceptable to yow company. If acceptable, please sign below and return to me before June 28,
2002, so I can prepare a staff report for the City Commission to accept the extension.
We look forward to recommending that we continue ow contract with yow company.
