Resolution No. 19-15RESOLUTION NO. 19-15 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID #1819-03 FOR MILLING AND PAVING 2019. WHEREAS, on February 20, 2019 four bids were received and opened for City Bid #1819-03 Milling and Paving 2019; and WHEREAS, the total bid prices (including 10% contingency) received ranged from $228,098.83 to $317,703.93; and WHEREAS, Preferred Materials, Inc. submitted all required documents in their bid submittal; and WHEREAS, the project consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials required to mill existing pavement and provide new paving on the street segments described in the bid specifications and staff report; and WHEREAS, the Contractor will be given sixty (60) days to complete the project; WHEREAS, this project is funded from the Local Option Gas Tax Fund Account 130-5002- 541-3400 ($225,000) and from the Public Works Streets Account 001-5002-541-3400 ($100,000) for a total of $325,000 allocated for FYI 819. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby awards Bid #1819-03 to Preferred Materials, Inc. in the amount of $228,098.83 (includes 10% contingency) for the Milling and Paving 2019 project in accordance with the bid specifications; SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the Contract with Preferred Materials, Inc. as well as approve milling and paving of additional roadways as the budgeted funds will allow (up to $325,000) while the contractor is mobilized on the job. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City of Atlantic Beach, this l la` day of March, 2019.
