A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH AUTHORIZING THE
EXPENDITURE OF A $40,000 FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION GRANT AWARD TO ENGAGE JONES
EDMUNDS TO PERFORM TASK AUTHORIZATION NO.9 — RESILIENCY
SUPPORT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach was awarded a $40,000 Florida Department of
Environmental Protection (FDEP) grant to perform an analysis of future flood risk under protected sea
level rise scenarios to support the City's resiliency planning;
WHEREAS, the City desires to engage Jones Edmunds to undertake this project, identified as
Task Authorization No. 9 — Resiliency Support, at a cost of $40,000; and
WHEREAS, this project is fully funded by the FDEP grant.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the expenditure of a $40,000 Florida
Department of Environmental Protection resiliency grant to engage Jones Edmunds to perform Task
Authorization No. 9 — Resiliency Support,
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the contracts and such purchase
order(s) in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
