Dear Property Owner:
Please be advised, the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances includes rules and regulations
governing construction activities and also maintenance standards for property within the City. These
standards are set forth in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code
and are made part of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-
16.
A code enforcement inspection at 2359 SEMINOLE RD was conducted on 3/7/2019. The City of
Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic
Beach Code of Ordinances:
VIOLATION CODE: Sec. 16-9. White goods, bulk items and special pickups, procedure and fees for
removal. All residents, occupants and owners of residential premises, other than multifamily residential
units receiving dumpster service for garbage, in the city who have not arranged for private disposal of
white or bulk goods shall have such goods removed and disposed of by the franchisee of the city by
placing such goods curbside on pickup day. For residential collection, the fee for pickup, other than
special pickup of excess yard waste, shall be included in monthly sanitation fees.
NATURE OF VIOLATION: Bulk items including a dresser, shutters and mattresses were stacked by
the curb outside of the scheduled trash pick up day.
This letter requests that the noted violation(s) be corrected by removing the items placed by the
curb until your next normal scheduled trash pick up day upon receipt of this notice.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Failure to correct the violation by the required date may
result in this case being referred to the Code Enforcement Board resulting in fines up to two hundred
fifty dollars ($250.00) per day. Upon completion of the action required, it is your responsibility to
contact me and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance. Please contact Atlantic Beach Code

Dear Ms. Irizarry,
We received the your letter dated 3/7/2019 (copy attached) regarding the above referenced
case . We understand that the letter was probably sent automatically as a result of the code
enforcement inspection conducted at 2359 Seminole Road on 3/7/2019.
I am writing to let you know that this inspection was done at our request because of items we
did not put there being left in front of our mailbox for several days. When the discarded
items were not removed, I sent a complaint to Public Works on 3/6/2190 via a text and pictures
directed to Scott Williams. I found his address on the City's website.
In a few days, we received a call from the City saying they would look into it. A second call
informed us that no one had been identified as the person(s) responsible for discarding the
items. The caller stated further that trucks frequently dumped items elsewhere in the City
and no further action could be taken.
I understand that your department has more important issues to address than the trash
problem of an individual resident. However, I am respectfully requesting that the City's
records be corrected to show that we were not responsible for a code violation on the
right-of-way adjacent to our mailbox.
We appreciate your consideration of our request and your help on making this correction.
