RESOLUTION NO. 02-14
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC REACH, AMENDING
RESOLUTION 00-07 REGARDING THE ATLANTIC BEACH TEEN
COUNCIL, PROVIDING THAT THE TEENCOUNCIL OPERATE UNDER
THE AUSPICES OF THE CULTURAL ARTS AND RECREATION
ADVISORY COMMITTEE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on September 14, 1994, the City Commission adopted
Resolution 94-30 which originally created the Atlantic Beach Teen
Council, and
WHEREAS, the Teen Council thereafter became inactive for a
period of time whereupon, on March 27, 2002, the City Commission
adopted Resolution 00-07 which again created the Atlantic Reach
Teen Council, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has adopted Resolution 02-13
creating the Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee, and
has directed that the Teen Council continue its activities. under
the auspices of said Committee
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the
City of Atlantic Reach as follows:
SECTION 1. Sections 2, 3, 4 and 5_of Resolution 00-07 are
hereby amended to read as follows:
^sec.2. Creation, Composition, Qualification: There is hereby
created and established a Teen Council a3~ composed o£
members, all of whom shall be at least thirteen (13) and no more
than nineteen (19) years of age, (except if also on the Cultural
Arts and Recreation Advisor Committee) -~~e residents of the
City, and shall serve wit out compensation. One member of the

Sec.3. Adult Advisor,. Commission Liaison: The Mayor shall
designate .one City Commissioner to serve as liaison to the Teen

may volunteer to work with the Teen Council under. the supervision
of the primaryauvr,,vr adult supervisor or Committee member on said
Council, and at least one adult advisor must be in attendance.. at

all meetings of the Teen Council.

Sec.4. Duties: The Teen Council shall make

Recreation Advisory Committee and the Commission liaison on all
ro osed Teen Council activities and programs to be sponsored

the authority to organize themselves and appoint a chairman, vice
chairman, and any ems other officers as they deem advisable.

SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage and adoption.
