This is in response to Maureen King's letter of June 6, regarding Resolution No. 01-09 as amended by Resolution 02-11, proposing to levy special assessments for Costs for water lines; storm water improvements, etc.; to select Selva Marina units. We, the undersigned, live on Selva Marina Drive. None of our properties touch any street where the above improvements were made. We also will not receive any benefits of this work. We feel this will be an unfair assessment to the undersigned, and stroncly object to this proposal Two houses on the corner of Seiva Marina Drive and 19~' Street with access to 19th Street are excluded, as they will receive some benefit. FLORIDA 32233-5445 .TELEPHONE: (904) 247-5800 FAX: (904) 247-5805 SUNCOM: 852-5800 http://ci.atlantic-beach.fl.us Dear Mr. & Mrs. The Atlantic Beach City Commission, by Resolution No. 01-09 adopted on May 14, 2001, and amended on May 28, 2002 by Resolution No. 02-11, proposes to lery special assessments for one half the cost of installation/replacement of water lines, storm water improvements, the full cost of street light installation and tree removal, and a portion of street reconstruction in Selva Marina Units 10, 10-A, 10-B, 10-C, 11, 12, 12-A, 12-B, and 12-C replat. You are hereby notified that the City Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:15 PM on Monday, fitly 8, 2002, in the Commission Chambers, City Hall, 800 Seminole Road, Atlantic Beach. At this meeting, owners of property to be assessed or othet persons interested therein, may appear before the City .Commission and be heard as to the propriety and advisability of making such improvements, as to the cost of the project, as to the manner of payment therefore, and as to the amount to be assessed against each property so improved. The City Commission will meet as an equalizing board to heaiFand consider any and all complaints as to the special assessments and shall then or thereafter, adjust and equalize the assessments on a basis of justice and right. The assessment to be levied against your property described as RE# 172020-0706, SELVA MARINA .UNIT 10 LOT 1 BLK A will be $497.75. Please note this is a revision of assessment information you may have received earlier. The. bids came in considerably under the estimated cost and assessments have been adjusted accordingly. Assessments shall be paid in 12 equal monthly payments of $43.07 including interest at a rate of 7.0% per annum on the unpaid balances. from the date of acceptance $y the city of the project. However, all or any portion of assessment may be paid without interest at any time within thirty (30) days after the project. is complete and has been accepted by the city. Assessment plat, plans and specifications, the estimated cost of the project, and the preliminary assessment roll, are. available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk (247-5809).
