He has stated his willingness to serve as Chairman if re-elected.

Enclosed is a corrected agenda. To avoid confusion, please throw
out the old agenda which references September 12, 1996 on page two
as the meeting date.
During the July 2, 1996 Code Enforcement Board Meeting, the Board
levied a one time fine of $500.00 against Willie Knight (Case 4629)
of 790 Sailfish Drive to be paid within thirty days. The thirty
day time period in which to pay has elapsed. At the meeting, I
will request Board authorization to file with the Clerk of the
Circuit Court a lien against said property for the unpaid fine.
If you have any questions concerning the Knight case, please call

Dear Mr. Ogburn:
The Code Enforcement Board of the City of Atlantic Beach was
created pursuant to Florida Statutes and exists for the purpose of
facilitating the enforcement of the Code of Ordinances. It is
comprised of seven citizens, residents of Atlantic Beach, who meet
regularly to hear allegations of code violations.
You are hereby notified and ordered to appear at the next
public hearing of the Code Enforcement Board on TUESDAY, the 4TH
day of MARCH, 1997 AT 7:30 P. M. at Atlantic Beach City Hall, 800
Seminole Road, to answer and be heard to the alleged violations of
the following Section(s) Chapter 24, Section 157 and Chapter 24,
Section 24-65-(c) Code of Ordinances, City of Atlantic Beach
It is alleged that you are in violation of the above enumerated
code section(s) in that there exists on the premises located at 440
Ocean Boulevard a/k/a Lot 3, Block 23, Atlantic Beach RE# 170171-
0000 the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, the following
condition(s): fence over six feet prohibited and permit required
that is, the fence is over six feet tall and no permit for
installation is on file.
The Code Enforcement Board has the power to levy fines up to
$250.00 per day for the first offense and $500.00 for the second
offense against the property, if a violation is found to exist
beyond the date set by the Board for compliance.
You have the right to obtain an attorney at your own expense
and to present witnesses in your behalf. If you desire to have
witnesses, subpoenaed or if you have questions regarding the
procedure, please contact Julie Brandt, Secretary of the Code
Enforcement Board within five days of the receipt of this notice at
247-5821. Please note the presence of a court reporter for the

9. In order to achieve compliance, it is necessary to: Cut the fence to six feet in
height and be issued a building permit

exist on the property. They represent a fair and accurate representation of the
property at the time they were taken.
11. 1 would estimate that 15 days would be sufficient time to correct the
violation.
12. Further comments and recommendation: It is my recommendation that if
compliance does not occur within the time specified by the board that a
maximum fine be imposed.

the meeting held September 10, 1996.
The election of a Chairman and Vice -Chairman of the Code
Enforcement Board was placed on the agenda at the request of Mr.
Martin. During the September 23, 1996 City Commission meeting Mrs.
Waters and he were reappointed to three year terms on the Board.
He has stated his willingness to serve as Chairman if re-elected.

Case #4626 - 836 Bonita Road - Property was cut by Wublic Works on two occasions. Owner paid a
total of $570.00 in weed abatement charges.
Case #4473 - 920 Camelia Street - Owner was fined $500.00 plus $50.00 per day if boat was not
moved by 9-13-96. Boat was moved on 9-17-96.
