DATE: August 26, 1997 RE: Kent Theaters/Atlantic Theaters Representatives of Kent Theaters appeared at the August 19, 1997 Community Development Board meeting to explain their delays in completing the required landscaping of the Atlantic Theaters site. They noted that they had been pursuing joint installation with a prospective tenant next door and that they fully intended to install all of the landscaping required. The Community Development Board inquired as to a reasonable timeframe for the work to be completed and was told that sixty days would be sufficient. After some deliberation the Board agreed to recommend that the Code Enforcement Board allow Kent Theaters sixty days to complete the landscaping. The Board also recommended that the Code Enforcement Board impose the maximum allowable fines if the work is not completed within the sixty day period. The Community Development Board recognizes the authority of the Code Enforcement Board in determining if a violation exists and in determining appropriate punishment.
