10-01-07 White Collar Union Meeting MinutesCITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH NE FLORIDA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' LOCAL 630 "WHITE COLLAR" UNION NEGOTIATION MEETING OCTOBER 1, 2007 The negotiation meeting was called to order at 5:00 PM. Those in attendance were: City: George Foster, Chief Negotiator Union: Andy Bemis, Staff Representative Becky Orders, Union Steward The City provided the Union with a summary of the City's position on pending City issues and advised the Union that the City needed to have Article 20, 10 year pension vesting, approved by the Union along with the Union accepting the City's Article 26 pay proposals. (see attached summary table) 2. The Union responded that they would accept the City's pay proposal; however, they would not accept changing the pension vesting for new employees from 5 years to 10 years. The next meeting date was to be established after the City had an opportunity to conduct a "shade" meeting, if appropriate, with the City Commission. As this is an election period, the Union was advised that a Shade meeting may not be possible until after the new Commissioners take office. 4. The meeting adjourned at 5:50 PM.
