BACKGROUND: Zoning related fees are .currently and inexplicably set forth within the
Code Enforcement provisions of Chapter 2 of the City Code; however, Section 24-46 (4) of the
Code authorizes the City Commission to establish fees related to the administrative costs of
carrying out the requirements of Chapter 24, the Zoning, Subdivision and Land Development
,~ Regulations.

~ Attached are two proposed ordinances; one amends Chapter 24 to create a new section for fees
related to planning and zoning activities, and the second amends Chapter 2-368 to eliminate
zoning fees from the Code Enforcement provisions of the Code.

Sec. 24-69.
~ Pursuant to Section 24-46 (4), the City Commission for the City of Atlantic. Beach hereby
establishes the following fees related to the administrative costs of carrying out the
requirements of this Chapter. These fees shall be payable to the City at the time such
application or request is filed. Applications for planning and zoning related requests shall
not be considered as complete applications until such time as required fees have been raid in
full.

COMMISSION ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
