~.., BACKROUND: The building department is funded by the various permit fees we
` collect. We have resisted raising these fees by keeping our costs down and have not
raised fees since July 26, 1982: As of Fy 2001 the department has not been fully funded
by permit fees. While building permit fees for new construction have gone up
consistently due to the fee being based on the value of the project, the other fees such as
plumbing, electrical, etc. have not increased.
By this ordinance we propose to bring the fees closer in line with our costs and to review
- fees again in FY-2003.

SECTION 1. Section 6-37 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach,
Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows:

No permit shall be granted for any electrical installation within the limits of the city until
after inspection fees have been paid. Such inspection-fees aze hereby fixed in the

SECTION 2. Section 6-59 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach,
