165ORDINANCE NO. Ay AN ORDINANCE Finding and Declaring that it is Necessary to the Public Safety and Welfare that all that Area of The Ocean Beach within the Corporate Limits of the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida, Lying Southerly ofthe Prolongation Easterly of the Southerly line of 15th Street to the Low `'dater Mark of the Atlantic Ocean= and Northerly of the Prolongation Easterly to said Low Water Mark of the Northerly line of Lot 5, Block 36, Atlantic Beach, according to Plat Recorded in Plat Book 5, page 69, of the Current Public Records of Duval County, Florida, Be Established as a Safety Zone; Establishing such Area as a Safety Zone for the Use of Persons En- gaged in Bathing, Sun-bathing, Games, Fishing and Similar Recreational Activities, and Prohibiting the Operation of Vehicles of all kinds and the Riding of Animals on or within said Area; Providing for the Erection and 'Maintenance of Suitable Barricades or Obstructions to Prevent the Entry of Vehicles into said Area; and Providing Penalties For the Violation of this Ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND TO'N COUNCIL OF THE TOtt,N OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the Mayor and Town Council of the Tovm of Atlantic Beach, Florida, after full investigation, have found and hereby declare that it is necessary to the public safety and welfare that all that area of the Ocean Beach within the corporate limits of the Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida, lying southerly of the prolongation easterly of the Southerly line of 15th Street to the low water mark of the Atlantic Ocean and Northerly of the prolongation easterly to the said low water mark of the Northerly line of Lot 5, Block 36, Atlantic Beach, according to plat recorded in Plat Book 5, page 69 of the current public records of Duval County, Florida, be and the same is hereby established as a safety zone for the use of persons engaged in bathing, sun-bathing, games, fishing and similar recreational activities, and that vehicular traffic within said area be prohibited. Section 2. It shall beunlawful for any person to propel, operate or drive any power -driven vehicle or any r = vehicle drawn by draft animal, o---lsieyele, or to ride any animal, at any time,within that area of the Ocean Beach within the corporate limits of said Town of Atlantic Beach, Florida, lying southerly of the prolongation easterly of the southerly line of 15th Street to the low water mark of the Atlantic Ocean, and northerly of the prolongation easterly to said low water mark of the northerly line of Lot 5, Block 36, Atlantic Beach, according to plat recorded in i'lat Book 5, page 69, of the current public records of juval County, Florida. That there shall be erected and maintained, and the Town Manager is hereby directed to erect, a suitable obstruction along the northerly and southerly lines of said area to prevent the entry therein of vehicles and other traffic prohibited by this ordinance. Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction be punished by fine not exceeding 4 or by imprisonment not exceeding 30 days.
