ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING AND REQUIRING THAT
ALL PERSONS, FIRMS AND CORPORATIONS DOING
CONSTRUCTION ''dURK, INCLUDING REPAIR WORK,
IN THE TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH, SHALL HAVE
AND MAINTAIN INSURANCE AGAINST PUBLIC
LIABILITY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE, AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NU. 136 OF SAID TOWN
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Town Council of the
Town of Atlantic Deach, Florida:
Section 1. All persons, firms and corporations doing
construction work of any kind, including the repair of any
structure, in the Town of Atlantic Beach, under or pursuant
to any contract for such work, shall, before beginning any
such work, and at all times during the continuance thereof,
have and keep in force public liability and property damage
insurance nrotecting such contractor against liability imposed
by law for injury to persons and property in the amount of not less than
x'10,000.00 in event of injury to one person, not less than
20,000.00 in event of injury to more than one person, and not
less than 41000.00 in event of injury to property.
Section 2. All persons, firms and corporations doing
construction work of any kind, including the repair of any
structure in the Town of Atlantic Beach, and where the extent,
scope or nature of such work is such that by reason of the
movement of vehicles or the use of machines, damage to property
or injury to members of the public may result, the persons,
firms or corporation doing or responsible for such work shall
have and keep in force public liability and property damage
insurance protecting them aFainst liability imposed by law for
injury to persons and property in an amount of not less than
10,000.00 in the event of injury to one person, not less than
420,000.00 in event of injury to more than one person, and not
less than ;1000.00 in the event of injury to property.
Section 3. All cases where insurance coverage is re-
ouired under the provisions of this ordinance, a permit for
the doing of the work shall not be issued unless and until
the applicant shall file with the Town Clerk a certificate of
a reputable insurance company certifying that the applicant
for such hermit holds a policy of the character required under
the provisions hereof.
Section 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance, shall upon conviction thereof
be punished by fine of not more than 100.00 or imprisonment of
not more than 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment$
in the discretion of the Court.
Section 5. Ordinance No. 136 entitled "An Ordinance
to provide and require that all persons, firms and corporations
doing construction work, including repair work,under contract
of the Town of Atlantic Beach, shall have insurance against
public liability and property damage", is hereby repealed.
