A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURES OF FUNDS FROM THE TREE
CONSERVATION TRUST FUND FOR EDUCATION AND OUTREACH
REGARDING REQUIRED TREE PERMITTING WITHIN THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH.
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach Environmental Stewardship Committee recognizes the
importance of the community's tree canopy and is committed to its enhancement; and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Stewardship Committee developed an information graphic
describing when a tree permit is required; and
WHEREAS, Section 23-14 of the Code of Ordinances requires that the use and distribution of
funds from the Tree Conservation Trust Fund shall be designated by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, at its March 13, 2019 meeting, the Environmental Stewardship Committee voted to
ask the City Commission to utilize the Tree Conservation Trust Fund to pay to print the aforementioned
graphic and mail it to all Atlantic Beach property owners and all known tree maintenance companies that
regularly perform work in the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Atlantic Beach City Commission that:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the use of up to $4,000.00 dollars from the
Tree Conservation Trust Fund for the following activities:
1. Print the tree permitting information graphic on approximately 5,350 individual 5"x 8"
postcards.
2. Mail the tree permitting information graphic to all property owners in Atlantic Beach.
3. Mail the tree permitting information graphic to all known tree maintenance companies that
regularly perform work in Atlantic Beach.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida,
