Approval of Local 630 union contract for the period October 1,
2002 through September 30, 2003.

ACTION REQUESTED: That the City Commission approve the Loca1630 union contract
for the period October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003.
BACKGROUND: The City and Loca1630 union have agreed to the provisions of a
new contract. Only salary is retroactive to October 1, 2002 with all
other changes effective upon contract approval. The key changes .
to the contract are:
- Article 26.1, Wages. Loca1630 employees will receive the
same pay increase as General employees; that is, the minimum,
.midpoint, and maximum pay for each grade will be increased
by 3% with employees receiving a 4% pay adjustment based
upon the new midpoint for their grade.
- Article 17.13, Hours of Work and Overtime. The minimum
payment for "call back" has been reduced from three hours to
two hours.
- Article 17.13, Hours of Work and Overtime. The pay that
employees receives for being on "Standby" has been increased
from $40 per week to $100 per week. • .
BUDGET: • • Funds for pay increases are currently within the budget and it is
anticipated that the changes within Article 17 will be cost neutral.
