Resolution No. 19-23RESOLUTION NO. 19-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE ONE POLICE FLEET VEHICLE TO REPLACE A CAR THAT WAS DAMAGED IN A TRAFFIC CRASH WHEREAS, an Atlantic Beach Police Department vehicle was damaged in a not at fault crash to the extent it was declared unfit for repair and deemed a total loss by the cities insurer; and WHEREAS, the Atlantic Beach Police Department requires a replacement vehicle to maintain an adequate number of patrol vehicles in the fleet to provide daily police service; and WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase vehicles from one or more State of Florida purchasing contracts or secure favorable pricing and terms of sale from other vendors; and WHEREAS, some of the equipment from the damaged police car will be salvaged for reuse on a replacement vehicle; and WHEREAS, the cost to replace this damaged police vehicle with a similar car designed and outfitted for emergency service will be approximately $42,000; and WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete this purchases are available through the 2018-19 Police Department Budget and insurance settlements; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to engage in the necessary purchase agreements to acquire one Police patrol vehicle. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
