A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE FINAL DESIGN FOR DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
FOR SEMINOLE ROAD.
WHEREAS, on May 21, 2019 staff received a proposal from Hanson Professional Services in
the amount of $40,606.00 to provide professional engineering services for final plans, specifications
and opinion of probable construction cost for drainage improvements along Seminole Road; and
WHEREAS, the design is to replace the failing and undersized pipe along the west side of the
roadway along Seminole Road between David Street and Palm Avenue as designed in the 50% plans;
and
WHEREAS, the tasks included in the proposal include Geotechnical Services, Drainage
Design/Plans Production, Permitting Requirements, Project Submittal Requirements, Utility
Coordination, Surbsurface Utility Engineering, Landscape Design/Plans and Meetings; and
WHEREAS, the City has a Professional Engineering Services Agreement with Hanson
Professional Services and this scope of work would be Task Authorization No. 2 under said agreement;
and
WHEREAS, funds for this design are budgeted in the stormwater account 470-0000-538-6300
under project number PU1912.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute Task
Authorization No. 2 with Hanson Professional Services in the amount of $40,606.00 for the Drainage
Improvements for Seminole Road (Final Design) as described in Hanson's proposal dated May 21,
2019, and;
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a
Purchase Order to Hanson Professional Services in the amount of $40,606.00 for said Task
Authorization No. 2.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
