The Committee is requesting matching funds of 50% of total cost, which exceeds the maximum $2,500 limit. A plan is attached and includes irrigation, Juniper, Indian Hawthorne, Pittosporum, Sabal Palms, sod, and mulch, Except for the funding request, this project falls in line with the program; the area is very visible, the area is in need of improvements, water use will be minimal and there is a strong commitment from the Le Chateau Condominium Association. We find the landscaping installed by the private homeowner at 697 Beach Avenue to be very attractive, and we wish to install its mirror image on our side of the street to the gate in our fence and continue with additional plants along our fence line to the corner at Beach Avenue: We have solicited proposals from three companies (attached,) the most favorable of. which is that from Second Hand Rose Nursery, which included a detailed ian~dscape plan (a(so attached). However, inasmuch as the City of Atlantic Beach is itself an important user of the 7th Street Access because it is the r-r~ajor" Vehicle access to tfie beach used by tine City f©r both emergency and service vehicles, we ask that the City increase its contribution to 50% of the total. Le chateau homeowners will fund the ~ba~lance (except that we will request contributions from the two neighboring properties: 697 and 699 Beach Avenuej.
