A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AWARDING BID #1819-05 FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF
ROADSIDE DITCHES AND SWALES.
WHEREAS, on May 8, 2019, one bid was received and opened for City Bid
#1819-05: Reconstruction of Roadside Ditches and Swales; and
WHEREAS, the total bid price (including 10% contingency) received was $145,021.00
from Maer Homes, LLC — DBA: Century Contracting & Excavation Co.; and
WHEREAS, Maer Homes, LLC — DBA: Century Contracting & Excavation Co. submitted
all required documents in their bid submittal; and
WHEREAS, the project consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials
necessary for the reconstruction of approximately 11,828 LF of roadside ditches and swales, to
include excavating, reshaping, hauling off excess material, sodding, watering and site cleanup; and
WHEREAS, all work to be performed is located on the west side of Mayport Road, to
include the following streets: Jasmine St., Camelia St., Hibiscus St., Stocks St., Violet St., Levy
Rd., Rose St., W. 4'i' St., W. 5t' St., W. 7" St., W. 90' St., W. 13" St. and W. 140' St.; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor will be given thirty (30) days to complete the project; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the stormwater account 470-0000-538-3400.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby awards Bid #1819-05 to Maer Homes, LLC
— DBA: Century Contracting & Excavation Co. in the amount of $145,021.00 to perform the work
for said bid in accordance with the bid specifications;
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the
Contract with Maer Homes LLC — DBA: Century Contracting & Excavation Co.;
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
