Resolution No. 19-35 (2)RESOLUTION NO. 1935 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE A RADIO CONSOLE DURING THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR. WHEREAS, periodically the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the police radio systems to ensure that it is safe and effective for public safety activities during routine service and in response to emergency situations; and WHEREAS, the purchase a radio console compatible with the First Coast radio system ensures reliable radio communications within the city, with surrounding law enforcement and fire agencies in compliance with the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Act; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that to enhance safe and effective radio communications with police officers in the street, one Radio Console should be purchased during the 2018-19 Fiscal Year for the Communications Center; and WHEREAS, a Police Radio Console can be purchased for approximately $30,000; and WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete this purchase are available in the 2018-19 Police Department Budget; and WHEREAS, Section 2-336 (7) of Municipal Ordinance allows software purchase to be exempted from the formal bid process and Section 2-338 (10) gives the City Manager authority to approve purchase under this exemption. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve the necessary purchasing process to acquire one Police radio console. SECTION 2.
