AGENDA ITEM: Name change for Church Rd./Dutton Rd.

BACKGROUND: We have researched the possible changing of the name of
Church ~Rd, to reflect the connection to Dutton Rd. The following items need to
be considered:
^ Due to the existing numbering the road would need to be Church Rd. West
and Church Rd. East because Mayport Rd. is the dividing line between
west numbering which get larger the further westward and east numbering
which get larger the further eastward.
^ There are nineteen properties west of Mayport Rd. that will be affected by
this change. Thirteen of these properties have structures.on them. There
is one business with a Church Rd. address. '
^ 'There are seven properties on Dutton Rd. that will be affected by this
change. Four of these properties have structures.
o Co-ordination with the City of Jacksonville will be required as half of the
road is in the county.
^ M,any house address numbers are out of sequence. This would be an
opportunity to correct them. For example there is a house numbered 1033
,Church Rd, that is next to 349 Church Rd.
^ Other agencies affected by these address changes are the U.S. Postal
Service, Emergency 911, Property Appraiser, JEA, CAB water and sewer,
and CAB Police Dept.
^ Mortgage Companies would have to be notified by the property owners.
BUDGET: None required
RECOMMENDATION: Change the name of Dutton Rd. to Church Rd. as the
number of properties affected will be much less that the effect of changing the
name of Church Rd. to Dutton.
