Mr. Reeves,
My wife Paula and I own 1280 W. Plaza, where tree -cutting was begun on Feb. 20, 2017 - in preparation for new home
construction by E&R Enterprises. The building contract was signed earlier this week.
My wife was out of town when the work last month was done, and photos were on her camera of Hurricane Matthew damage
to our property.
I believe the damage is discussed in the application that I submitted on Feb. 21. (Trees were downed, split off at 20 -foot
height, and many blown to near 45 -degree leaning angles.) They were pretty tall trees.
I have a set of photos I am bringing to you at City Hall tomorrow morning, 3/10/17, to show and supplement the explanation I
wrote in notes to the originally -submitted application.
In retrospect/hindsight - again - Paula and I are now aware of permitting required in Atlantic Beach for that type of tree work,
and apologize again for not knowing better last month.
So I brought in our application prepared as you said, showing trees cut ( about 30- including the damaged ones), and trees
still wanting cut ( 3 or 4 ).
I have not heard by email or cellphone anything since then, so I thought we would provide you with some better evidence of
the conditions at the house -pad site, before the cutting started.
I am copying Mr. Dan Arlington with this message, as he replied to my dock permit request in 2015, and explained what
needs to happen for that permit to be issued.
I expect I will get to City Hall just after 8 AM tomorrow, maybe will see you. Thanks again - hope this note and the photos
will help out.
Sincerely,
Jim Brown
