To Whom It May Concern:
At the subject project, it is my understanding that the framer did not construct the
rimboard/sheathing lap splices as indicated in our structural details. To account for this
deficiency, additional fasteners will be required as described below:
• The 2nd floor studs should be attached to the sole plate with Simpson SDWC15450 or 1/4"
x4%" SDS screws at 32" o.c.
• The 2nd floor sole plate should be attached to the floor trusses below with Simpson
SDWC15450 or 1/4" x 4'/2" SDS screws at 24" o.c.
• The floor trusses should be attached to the I" floor double plate with Simpson
SDWC15600 or V4" x 6" SDS screws at 24" o.c.
• The I" floor double plate should be attached to the studs with Simpson SDWC15600 or
1/4"x 6" SDS screws at 32"o.c.
• The 1 S` floor studs should be attached to the sole plate with Simpson SDWC 15450 or '/4"
x 4'/2" SDS screws at 32"o.c.
Please note that the remaining details for hardware and sheathing installation as shown in our
structural drawings will still apply.
