Air Show Schedule; Plans for the 2001 Jacksonville Beach Air Show have expanded to include a
"Fleet Week" beginning on Tuesday, October 30s' and extending through Monday, November 5`s.
Events would be held at three locations; Jacksonville Beach, The Landing and the Mayport Naval
Base. A preliminary schedule for "Fleet Week 2001" is attached for your information. While the
schedule will undoubtedly change prior to the event, this early draft will provide an indication of
the type of activities to be available to the public during "Fleet Week".
Information Technology Project; The Finance Department is moving forwazd with the purchase
of the hazdwaze necessary to implement this yeaz's portion of the Information Technology Plan.
Currently being processed aze two purchase orders for hardware, softwaze and connectivity
related items. All items are within the budget approved and aze being purchased with the state
contract pricing, The two vendors are NetAge for all hardware except the servers, softwaze and
connectivity related items totaling $69,874.00. The two servers aze being purchased direct from
Compaq for $38,368.00. Also being done is the conversion of the plans/storage room to a
computer room/office located upstairs in the south end of City Hall. This portion of the project
includes flooring, electrical wiring, network cabling and communication wiring for the entire
network. The estimate for the conversion is expected to be less than $20,000. Three quotes for
these services will be obtained prior to proceeding.
