Dear Aaron,
The following is in response to inspection comments from the City of Atlantic Beach for the site at 1255 Begonia Street. The
original comment is repeated in bold below with the response following.
1. Submit revisions for roof joist change. (size and spacing)
The plans specified 2x6 rafters at 16" centers. 2x8 joists were installed at 24" centers. This is an acceptable
alternative. All fastening previously specified still applies.
2. Submit revisions for attachment of joist to host structure.
The plans specified using a ledger to the face of the wall. In the field, the rafters were set on top of the wall. This is
acceptable. The rafter should be fastened to the heel of the existing trusses with (3) 10d nails and (2) 10d toe-nails
into the plate.
Nothing further is required. Please call if you have additional questions.
