AGENDA ITEM: Extension of Annual Janitorial Service Contract for City Facilities

BACKGROUND: Bid 9900-5 was originally opened on December 15, 1999 with
Jani-King Cleaning Services being awazded the contract as low
bidder. In mid-February, Jani-King Cleaning Services could no
longer provide the level of service required to maintain City
facilities and submitted their letter of resignation to the City of
Atlantic Beach. On February 28, 2000 the City Commission
approved awarding the contract to Duval Janitor who was the
second lowest bidder.
The current contract with Duval Janitor Services expired on March
1, 2001.
FUNDING: This action will not result in any additional cost or funding. Duval
- Janitor's contract rate has not increased. -
RECOMMENDATION: That the City Commission approve the extension of Duval
Janitor's contract for a period of one (1) year to expire on February
28, 2002.
