ITEM: Extension of Temporary Employee contract with Remedy Intelligent
Staffing for an additional year.

BACKGROUND: There is oRen a need for a temporary employee to fill in for an
employee that may be out on medical leave, to fill in for a vacant
position, or to perform special projects.
In February 1999, the City Commissioners awarded Remedy
Intelligent Staffurg as the best out of five bids. In Mazch 2000, the
City Commissioners approved the continuation of the contract with
Remedy Intelligent Staffing.
During calendar yeaz 2000, the city expended approximately
$10,000 to Remedy Intelligent Staffing for temporary employees
utilized in the categories of Receptionist and Data Entry Clerk.
The renewal rates for categories used in CY 2000 aze as follows:

FUNDING: -There are no funds budgeted. Funding is normally from the salary
account of the department utilizing the temporary employee. Prior
to acquiring a temporary, the Department Head must submit a
written request to Finance for fixnding verification and to the City
Manager for approval.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a one year extension of contract with Remedy Intelligent
Staffing as primary company to provide Temporary Employees for
the City.
