Receivedproposals for new medjool Design - 100%complete palms on 3/30/0!. Repairs to bricks made at the Sea Horse Motel, and new light poles installed. JEA removed pole in front of [he Sea Turtle. Construction - Oxgoing 8. Widening of Atlantic Blvd. (D)=H. W. Lochner, Inc., Pilings have been finished, substructure is complete and concrete and steel Bridge - FDOT girders have all been completed. Expected completion date of uevv bridge is (C)=Superior Construction Co. estimated to be late May to early June and traffic will be transferred to new Design - 100%complete (CE&I)=Reynolds, Smith & Hills bridge at that time. Work on existing bridge will then begin, which includes removal of the existlng median and installing new style barrier Ovals. Construction - 75%complete 9. Mayport Flyover (D)=Pittman, Hartens[ein & Assoc. Received Department of Health clearance to make final tie in. Scheduled to JTA complete early in January 2001. Final inspection was held on 1/26/01. Flyover Design - 100%emnplete Connelly & Wicker for Atlantic Beach Contractor began on Pier 5 on 2/2/01 and closed inside westbound lane on (C)=Superior Construction Co. Atlantic Blvd. for approximately 3-4 weeks. Modified eastbound lanes on Construetion -41 %complete (CE&I)=Public Works Mayport Road -widening and curb and gutter in place. Working on sub-base on overall, 100%jor utility JTA (Reynolds, Smith & Hills) east side of Atlantic Blvd. and completed placing concrete pilings on the relocation northbound lane of Mayport Road. Due to high cost of material at Buck Island, material will be obtained from channel dredging project scheduled to star[ 9/01 and renourishment should startin January 2002. 12 Water Master Plan (D)=Camp, Dresser & McKee Began digitizing As-Builts and performed site visit to water plants on 2/5/01. City staff being trained to input data, Team GIS and facilitate transfer of information to Desige -60% eourplete City in the future. CDM has performed site visits at all plants and is obtaining information for efficiency analysis. Surveyors have begun marking GPS points. Meeting 10 150 Board Meeting 7 70 State Attorneys Office 1 10 Cribbage/Scrabble 5 13 Totals 23 243 AGENDA ITEM #4A MAY 14, 2001 Summary of Donner Park and Jordan Park activities • Met with Karen Wolfson of B.E.A.M. to discuss Summer Camp and BEAM sponsoring children for the Dental Van this Summer. • Donner Park Cheerleaders assisted the Department by filling Easter Bags with toys and candy for the Egg Hunt in Jordan Park. They also assisted in felting the senior citizens baskets vdth staple food items and fruits. • Donner Park hosted the Beaches Youth Explosion Talent Week the week of April 9-15. Some of the activities consisted of various forms of talent being performed, arts and crafts show and hot dogs and chips being served. • Cheerleaders were invited to perform at Jacksonville Beach housing complex and the .Holly Brook housing complex. They also assisted children from these areas with filling Easter baskets and dying eggs: • Concluded Basketball Season at Donner Park by attending four Basketball games including play-off and championship games. Donner Park's 16 and older team came in second place and 16 and younger came in third place in the league. • Gary Walker of the Jacksonville Jaguars came out and signed autographs and assisted the children with homework for our after school program. • Donner Park is planning for Youth Kickball and Softball Teams to begin this summer. A conference was held with officer J.J. Dixon of the Police Athletic League to assist in coordinating the teams. • Planned and coordinated all necessary paperwprk for Donner/Jordan Park summer camp. Atl forms and corcespondence has been sent out. Summary of Parks and Recreation activities: • Held annual Egg Hunt at Jordan Park. Approximately 70 people were in attendance. • Completed Tennis Court re-surtacing. • Completed landscaping at Lifeguard Station • Worked on Beautification Department flower beds. • Attended strategic planning meetings. • Attended Recreation Advisory Board meetings. • Typed correspondence, answered phone, webpage updates and_all other parks and recreation activities.
