Exh 6BAGENDA ITEM #6B JUNE 25, 2001 RESOLUTION N0. 01-13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH CHANGING THE NAME OF THE ADELE GRAGE COMMUNITY CENTER TO THE ADELE GRAGE CULTURAL CENTER, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the structure at 716 Ocean Boulevard was built in 1933 as the TownHaIl for the Town of Atlantic Beach; and WHEREAS, the building continued to be used as the Town Hall until 1957 when the City of Atlantic Beach was created, following which the building was known as City Hall; and WHEREAS, the building continued to be used as the City Hall unti11991 when the new City Hall was opened at 800 Seminole Road, following which the building was converted for use as a community center and was renamed the Adele Grage Community Center; and WHEREAS, the building will soon undergo major renovations to meet the cultural and community needs of Atlantic Beach residents; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission that the building be renamed the Adele Grage Cultural Center. NO W THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Corrunission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows: SECTION 1. Upon completion of the renovations the building known as the Adele Grage Community Center shall be renamed the Adele Grage Cultural Center by which it shall thereafter be known. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage and adoption. PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach this day of 2001.
