AGENDA: Awazd bid number 0001-21 -Beach Cleaning in Atlantic
Beach fora 12 month period to Beachcombers in the
amount of $35,800

BACKGROUND: On Wednesday, July 11, 2001 bids were opened at 3:OOPM
for Beach Cleaning in Atlantic Beach fora 12 month
period, Bid number 0001-21. Two bids were submitted as
follow:
Vanguard Special Services $35,296
Beachcombers $35,800
Staff checked Vanguard's references and it seems as if they
provide an air duct cleaning service. They also submitted a
bid to clean the Beach in St. Johns County and did not
receive that bid because of inadequate personnel and
equipment. Staffrecommends awazding the bid to
Beachcombers, who has provided this service for the past
several yeazs.
RECOMMENDATION: Award bid number 0001-21 -Beach Cleaning in Atlantic
Beach fora 12 month period to Beachcombers in the
amount of $35,800.
