and requires the service of a contract inspector until the position can be
filled.

Contract Service Agreement
This Agreement is made and executed this _~8 _ day of u~.-E 2001 by and between the
city of Atlantic Beach, Florida, a Municipal Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the
City), and Karl W. Grunewald, '736 Selva Lakes Circle, Atlantic Beach, Florida 32233,
(hereinafter referred to as contractor).
Now, therefore, it is mutually agreed as follows:
1. The City agrees to retain Contractor to assist the Building Official in the City
of Atlantic Beach.
2. Contractor agrees to use his expertise and best efforts in perfornng the
responsibilities of building inspections.
In consideration of the above services rendered by the Contractor as set forth
in Pazagraphs 1 and 2, the City agrees to pay Contractor the sum of $30.00 per
hour, paid bi-weekly. The City agrees that in no case shall compensation be
for less than three hours regazdless of time spent performing inspections. This
shall constitute full and complete compensation for all services rendered. The
City shall not reimburse the Contractor for any travel expenses.
4. This contract may be terminated by either party hereto by giving thirty (30)
days written notice to either party.
5. Contractor's performance under this agreement shall commence on the 2"d day
of July 2001, and continue until the 1~` day of July 2002, unless extended by
mutual agreement of the parties, or unless this agreement is terminated sooner
in accordance with the provisions set forth in paragraph 4 above.
6. The provisions of this agreement aze severable, and if any part of it is found to
be unenforceable, the other paragraphs shall remain fully valid and
enforceable. This agreement shall survive the termination of any agreemems
contained herein.

7. This agreement sets forth the entire agreement between the parties hereto, and
fully supersedes any and ail prior agreements and understandings between the
parties hereto pertaining to the subject matter hereof.

In compliance with the Charter of The City Of Atlantic Beach, I do certify that
there is an unexpended, unencumbered and unimpounded balance in the appropriation
sufficient to cover the foregoing contract and provision has been made for the payment of
the monies thereinto be paid up to the amount budgeted.
