BACI{GROUND:
This unit will be a trailer mounted, 4-inch vacuum assisted, self-priming pump, primarily used
during repair of water or sewer breaks.
The City of St. Petersburg took bids on sixteen various pumps, including the pump specified
above. They received bids from six vendors, and the low bidder for the total package of pumps
was Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co., Inc. The low bidder for the 4-inch vacuum
assisted, self-priming pump was Complete Dewatering Pumps and Wellpoints, Inc., at $296 less
than Thompson Pump.
Ciry staff contacted Complete Dewatering Pumps and Wellpoints, Inc., and they agreed to offer
their low bid price for the above specified pump to the City of Atlantic Beach, in the amount of
513,650.
BUDGET: Funds were budgeted for this item in the Water Utility Fund, account number
400-4301-533-3400 in the amount of $15,000.
RECOMMENDATION: Purchase the 4-inch vacuum assisted self-priming pump from
Complete Dewatering Pumps and Wellpoints, Inc. for a total of $13,650.

handling to 3" spherical solids. CO'.uZpLETE Vacuum Assist System with a single VLi vacuum pump, air handling
capacity to 68 ctin, air/water sepazation tank, closed loop vacuum oil recovery rystem. The unit is mourned on err.
integral fuel tank/frame, fuel capacity of 52 gallons (atin), operat;ng time of approximarely 24 hours on one
filling. Highway tow package included with heavy duty Torflex axle, highway rated tires, steel fenders, stop%tum
light kit, tow bar with tow hitch to match your towing vehicles con5guration, front wind-down swing away jack
stand, drop down pons on ail four corners. Also included is the hose rack'carry bin optioq which allows you to
carry suction and discharge hoses right on the pump itself. (hoses are not included). The rntire unit is primed and
painted Complete teal blue. or arty other single color the city may want. One year warranty, two secs of operating
and pare manuals. Please refer to Lhe attached information shits for details on the pump. Delivery time is up to
6 weeks, with the norm being 2-4 weeks.
