We are Brian and Traci Kilby and live at the address shown below. We are privileged to live in Atlantic Beach for nearly 20 years and in the last year and a half across from Mark and
Sally Young. I believe the existing codes and rules in Atlantic Beach to be well documented, accessible and generous to the homeowner. I’m a firm believer that the principal asset
of Atlantic Beach is the tree canopy, especially in the Selva Marina neighborhood. Over my 20 years, I’ve heard that families have specifically moved into this neighborhood for the
trees and unique character that they provide. Numerous (4+) live and healthy oak trees have already been removed from this property since the Youngs purchased the home in 2017, some
likely 50+ years old. To the best of the ability, I’ve personally tried to tactfully convey my objection to them regarding removing trees. I now officially convey this same position
to this commission. Should this variance request affect any existing trees (removal, trim or otherwise affect the wellbeing) or include a front-yard fence, I respectfully object and
ask that you vote similarly. Otherwise, I’m in full agreement with their request to improve their property and look forward to their continued enjoyment of our neighborhood.
