I wish to enter my opposition to this variance (ZVAR18-0008).
First, this variance request is after the fact!
The exterior stairs have been completed.
Appears that the builder is unconcerned for the privacy of the
neighbors.
Seems that a alternative should be found within the boundaries of
normal building codes.
The 1.5 feet makes this stairway 4.5 feet from the windows of the
adjacent home.
This proximity will inevitably create privacy issues.
Additionally, this stairway will restrict natural light from entering
the adjacent home.
This restriction of light will change the interior mood of the adjacent
home.
Together, the value of the adjacent home will be impacted by the
granting of the variance.
Therefore, privacy, restriction of light entering the property. and
impact of value to the neighborhood are reasons to disallow this
variance.
