AGENDA ITEM: Awazd btd number 0001-25, Annual lawn maintenance
service at city facilities to Cuyler's Lawn Service in the
amount of$110,432 00

BACKGROUND: On September 17, 2001, the following bids were received
for the annual lawn maintenance service at city facilities
Bryant Brothers $81,360 00 (lack of expenence)
Cuyler's Lawn Service $110,432.00
Turf Master $145,950 00
Landscape Consultants $173,253 00
C & L Landscape $207,384 00
The bid requues five yeazs of experience and this company
has been in existence for two years Until approxiniately
three weeks ago, Bryant Brothers was affiliated with
Golden Rule Services. Golden Rule provided this service
last yeaz and we were not pleased with their quality of
work. Also, Golden Rule backed out the contract before
the contract was up We contacted several companies to
fuush out the contract and Cuyler's Lawn Service was the
only one that would do so After reviewing their work,
they are doing a good~ob
BUDGET: The funding for this service ~s included in next yeaz's
budget-account number 001-6020-572-34-00. Last year's
contract was $69,396 There is an increase due to the
added areas and quality of work Next yeaz's budget does
not reflect such an increase, but we will make the change
during mid-yeaz budget adjustments
