Exh 7BAGENDA ITEM #7B SEPTEMBER 24, 2001 CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH CITY COMMISSION STAFF REPORT AGENDA ITEM: Ordinance No 20-O1-53 amending the fiscal yeaz ended September 30, 2001 Operating Budget DATE: September 4, 2001 SUBMITTED BY: Nelson Van Liere, Finance Diector BACKGROUND: Throughout the fiscal year, there aze events wlch were not anticipated or that occurred causing the budget for those items to be either created or adjusted The following adjustments aze proposed and represent transactions covering the second half of the yeaz Most are the results of items that the Crty Commission has already been made aware of The following is a description of the entries that the budget ordinance addresses 1. Transfer of $14,500 to the Finance Department to purchase the server and router with installation and softwaze to allow the City to host its own web page and external E-Mail services and to create the firewall necessary to block unauthorized access to our data base 2 To create a budget for the $100,000 of funds from the Crty of Jacksonville for the Dune Walk-Over project These funds will be added to the $30,000 already budgeted as part of a grant 3 To create a budget of $40,000 for the donations to be received for the Adele Grage renovatron project A total of $200,000 was planned of which $160,000 was budgeted in the FY-2002 proposed budget 4 To adjust the Debt Service Fund for a minor vaziance of $35 from an adjustment to the schedule of payments for leap yeaz and to also adjust the interest income for that fund 5 To reduce the First Night revenue budget and adjust the expense budget to account for the payment to the now private First Night organization for all of the remaining momes in the fund 6. To adjust the General and Pohce Pension Fund expense budgets for increases in benefits pazd Both funds had additional retirements since the FY-2001 budget was created RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Ordinance No 20-O1-53 ATTACHMENTS: Ordinance No. 20-O1-53 REVIEWED BY CITY MANA AGENDA ITEM #7B SEPTEMBER 24, 2001 ORDINANCE N0.20-O1-53 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2000 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2001.
