A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE
EQUIPMENT TO OUTFIT FOUR POLICE FLEET VEHICLES DURING
THE 2019-2020 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS, each year the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the vehicles in its
fleet to ensure that they are safe and effective to be used for public safety activities during routine
service and in response to emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has been approved to purchase four Police vehicles
during the 2019-20 Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, these vehicles require additional equipment to successfully perform the
Police function efficiently and effectively; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase this equipment from one or more State
of Florida purchasing contracts or secure favorable pricing and terms of contract from other
vendors; and
WHEREAS, this equipment can be purchased at a cost of approximately $51,000 total for
all four vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete these purchases to outfit these vehicles are
approved in the 2019-20 Police Department Budget; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to engage in the
necessary city purchasing process to approve the acquisition of the required equipment to outfit
new Police vehicles.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
