A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO PROVIDE FY 2019-20 FUNDING TO DESIGNATED NONPROFIT
ORGANIZATIONS FOR ARTS, CULTURE AND RECREATION PROGRAMS AND
EVENTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 2-2 of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances authorizes the contribution of
City funds to charitable non-profit, or other worthy causes to support artistic, recreational and cultural programs,
events or projects that benefit the residents of Atlantic Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee (CARAC) is tasked with reviewing
funding requests and making recommendations to the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, CARAC developed guidelines and an application for funding requests, reviewed the requests,
and made a funding recommendation to the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, funds for the contributions will come from account number 001-6010-572-81-01, which has
28,500 budgeted in FY 2019-20 for schools and $19,800 budgeted in FY 2019-20 for organizations.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to provide 2019-20 funding to the
following organizations and schools as follows:
13,500; Atlantic Beach Elementary
5,400; Neptune Beach Elementary
9,600; Mayport Middle School
2,250; Tony's Turkey Trot
2,400; Beaches Fine Arts
1,800; OMI
2,000; FACE
1,000; Deck the Chairs
2,700; DIG Local
1,800; Jax Dance Theatre
900; Birds of Fire
1,830; Meraki Wellness
500; New Age Hippy
2,026; Coastal Kicks Soccer
