Dear Stephen,
The permit engineering indicates a shear wall at the stairs and a shear wall between the kitchen and the garage. The shear
wall at the stair is not to be installed, because that wall doesn't exist. To remedy, sheath both sides of the garage/kitchen
shear wall. Install sheathing per Detail 10/S3.01. Nothing further is required.
Additionally, the second level floor plan shows threaded rods. This is a holdover from a pervious plan set. There are no
threaded rods on this job. Follow the wall sections on Sheet S3.01 for hurricane fastening.
