AGENDA TI'EM: Request from the Beautification Committee for the City Cormission to
continue the annual Tree Giveaway.

BACKGROUND: The Beaufification Committee has been authorized by the City
Commission to conduct an annual tree giveaway in an attempt to create a
tree canopy in City of Atlantic Beach neighborhoods such as Royal
Palms, Aquatic Gardens and certain areas of Marsh Oaks. The Tree
Giveaway has been allotted $2,000 per year from the Tree Fund to
purchase live oaks and sycamores in order to plant on private property.
With the Beautification Committee's request for the dissolution of the
Cotmittee, the Committee would request that the City Commission
continue with this project.
RECOMMENDATION: To continue the Tree Giveaway project. It was a successful project last
October with approximately 14 trees being planted in Royal Palms and
Aquatic Gardens:
