A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE
COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH SOFTWARE.
WHEREAS, the Motorola Premier 1 Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software
authorized for purchase in Resolution 18-45 has been installed and implemented, coming online
on November 5, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the funding for 50% of this project was allocated in the FY 2018 — 2019
Police Budget and expended during the provisioning and implementation of the system at that
time; and
WHEREAS, the remaining funding for 50% of this project has been allocated in the FY
2019 — 2020 Police Budget after completion and activation of the system; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-336 (7) of Municipal Ordinance allows software purchases to be
exempted from the formal bid process and Section 2-338 (10) gives the City Manager authority to
approve purchase under this exemption; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City ofAtlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to engage in the
necessary city purchasing process to approve the payment for the Premier 1 CAD software from
Motorola Solutions, Inc in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
