AGENDA ITEM: Public Works Union Contract

ACTION REQUESTED: That the City Commission approve the October 1, 2001
amendment to the October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2003
Public Works union contract.
BACKGROUND: The City and Public Works union have agreed to the provisions df
anew contract. Only salary is retroactive to October 1, 2001 with
all othei changes effective upon contract approval. The key
features of the contract aze:
- .Article 13, Personal Leave Hours, was updated to include the
Personal Leave "sell back" policies and procedures as
previously approved by the City Colrunission on October 23,
2000. There aze no changes to the leave accrual rates or other
leave policies.
- Article 26, Wages, was changed to implement the pay,
promotion, and demotion provisions of the classification and.
pay study as previously approved by the City Commission on
September 24, 2001.
BUDGET: Funds forthese actions were included within the FY 2001/2002
budget.
ATTACIiMENTS: Proposed union contract.
.RECOMMENDATION: That the City Commissions approve the Public Works amended
union contract for the period October 1, 2001 through September
30, 2002. /
