These standards are set forth in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code and were adopted as part of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-16. A code enforcement inspection at 1931 FRANCIS AVE was conducted on 1/10/2020. The City of Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances: 1. VIOLATION CODE: IPMC Sec. 605.1 Electrical equipment, wiring and appliances shall be properly installed and maintained in a safe and approved manner. NATURE OF VIOLATION: Electrical outlets in the kitchen and bathroom must be replaced with receptacles with a ground fault circuit interrupter. All receptacles outlets shall have the appropriate faceplate cover for their location. 2. VIOLATION CODE: IPMC Sec. 304.6 Exterior walls. All exterior walls shall be free from holes, breaks, and loose or rotting materials; and maintained weatherproof and properly surface coated where required to prevent deterioration. NATURE OF VIOLATION: Exterior siding in in need of repair. All missing sections must be replaced and loose siding secured. The warped siding on the rear of the home requires replacement to maintain a weatherproof surface. 3. VIOLATION CODE: IPMC 304.7 Roofs and drainage. The roof and flashing shall be sound, tight and not have defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and downspouts shall be maintained in good repair and free from obstructions. Roof water shall not be discharged in a manner that creates a public nuisance. NATURE OF VIOLATION: Interior ceiling is stained indicating roof leaks. The area of roof above the stains is covered with a plastic bag. Roof must be repaired to prevent water intrusion. 4. VIOLATION CODE: IMPC Sec. 304.13 Window, skylight and door frames. Every window, skylight, door and frame shall be kept in sound condition, good repair and weather tight. NATURE OF VIOLATION: Interior window sills show evidence of water staining and glass in several windows is loose and not water tight. Windows and frames must be repaired to prevent water intrusion. This letter requests that the noted violation(s) be corrected by correcting all deficiencies within 15 days of the receipt of this notice. The work must be completed by a licensed contractor and all applicable permits must be obtained from the City of Atlantic Beach. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Failure to correct the violation by the required date may result in this case being referred to the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate resulting in fines up to two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day for each of the listed violations.
