Summary of Jordan Park activities:
• Christmas cards were designed by the Jordan Park children for local families. Theft also
designed cards for their family members.
• Flag Football season at Jordan Park was in full swing for the entire month of December.
The children participated in several games and continued their undefeated football
season.
• The quarterly sub-grant report was submitted and completed
• The children of Jordan Park also participated in the Homework Club Christmas Party as
' well as the toy giveaway held by Donner Park Community Center.
Summary of Donner Park activities:
• The Donner Park Community Center's children participated in a Field Trip to Town Center
to see the Christmas Tree decorations put on the Christmas Tree by the Sea Turtle Inn
Staff. After they participated in helping decorate the tree, they finished the evening with
playtime and a snack at Jack Russell Park.
• Seven children aftended aFree-flair-cut-a-thon. This event and the tickets were
sponsored by Hair Syndicate on Mayport Road.
• A Christmas Party was held for the children who are in the Donner and Jordan Park
Homework Club. A total of forty-eight children participated and each received a wrapped
gift, a stuffed stoking and a free lunch.
• A neighborhood °orange picking party" was held by Chief Thompson at his residence.
The children of the community center visited Chief Thompson's home and picked oranges
and tangelopes from various trees. He also purchased extras so the center was able to
have more food for the Christmas baskets that were prepared by the children for local
families. Seventy-eight children participated in this event.
• Lunch was served by the players of the Miami University Football team. Tickets to the
event were purchased by the Fellowship of the Christian Angel Association. The children
also received autographs from players of the team as well as team paraphernalia.
• Thirty-two families this year received Christmas baskets that were prepared by toy
donations and food offered to the community center for those in need. Donner Park along
with the Beaches Resource Center and various churches held this drive for the families
that were in need this holiday season.
• One hundred seventy one families received commodities this month and smoke detectors
were passed out to families who were in need.
Other Adele Grage and Parks & Recreation activities included:
• Oversee the construction of Dutton Island and Tresca Park and opened Bull Park bids.
• Prepared minutes and agenda for the Recreation Board.
• Monitored three grants (Drug Grant for Jordan Park, Florida Inland Navigation District
Grant for construction of Tresca and design of Dutton {stand).
• Other activities included daily meetings, webpage updates, reports, telephone calls, park
inspection, etc.
