A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AWARDING THE RUSSELL PARK BASKETBALL RECONSTRUCTION
PROJECT
WHEREAS, on December 2, 2019, staff received a quote for the Russell Park Basketball
Reconstruction project; and
WHEREAS, the quote received was from Court Surfaces of Florida in the amount of
84,240.67; and
WHEREAS, Court Surfaces of Florida has a contract with Seminole County, FL for Court
Resurfacing Services (Contract #IFB-602634-16/TLR), and staff recommends piggy -backing off
this contract; and
WHEREAS, the project consists of demolition of the concrete slab and removal of the two
basketball goals and haul off site; pour a new 94' by 41' (6" thick), 3,000 PSI concrete slab on the
same area as existing court; install two new basketball goals similar to existing; and apply a coat
of deep patch material as a tack coat followed by three coats of color coatings and playing lines
for one basketball court; and
WHEREAS, $80,000 is budgeted in FY 19-20 under project PW2009 Russell Park
Basketball Court, and staff will supplement the remaining balance from the Parks operating
budget.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby approves piggy -backing off the above
referenced Seminole County Contract; and
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a
purchase order to Court Surfaces of Florida in the amount of $84,240.67 for the reconstruction of
the Russell Park Basketball Court.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
